The Redskins announced today that they have signed linebacker Kourtnei Brown and cornerback Korey Lindsey to their practice squads.
Brown (pictured above) — who will wear No. 54 with the Redskins — was released by the San Francisco 49ers in late August after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson in May.
Lindsey (at right) — who will wear No. 20 with the burgundy and gold — was a seventh-round (207th overall) selection of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL draft, but spent most of the 2011 season on the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad. He has since spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, and, more recently, the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he was released last month.
Anyway, our job here at the Redskins Blog is to try to bring you some flavor from the players’ lives, and we’ve found a gem in Brown’s past: he does a mean impression of Elmo and the Cookie Monster.
Watch this video from the 2:18 to 2:27 mark to hear Elmo, and then from the 3:00 to 3:07 mark to hear Cookie Monster:
Isn’t that awesome? I can’t even tell the difference. I sure hope the Redskins players (Stephen Bowen) don’t catch on to these impressions.
Brown goes on to explain that he hopes to get into the entertainment biz when his football career is over.
“Whether it’s acting or doing, like, voice-overs, cartoons,” Brown said. “I’m full of voices and everything. I just like to have fun a lot of times.”
Brown, who you can follow on Twitter at “Brown_2_TheBone,” recently tweeted this photo out, hinting at his new destination:
Now, when it comes to Lindsey, I couldn’t find any videos out there of him doing awesome impressions, but I did find this that gives you a better perspective of where he comes from:
