Griffin III Wants To Convert LeBron James
Posted by on December 4, 2012 – 10:33 pmLast night, the Washington Redskins defeated the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants at home to extend their season-long winning streak to three games.
Tonight, several Redskins players were on hand to watch the struggling Washington Wizards take on the defending NBA champion Miami Heat in D.C.
Not many gave the Wizards a chance to pull off the upset; but, wouldn’t you know it — Washington was victorious once again.
The Wizards earned their second win of the season by hanging on to defeat the Eastern Division-leading Heat, 105-101, in front of a standing-room crowd at the Verizon Center.
Among those taking in the game from the Redskins were quarterback Robert Griffin III, outside linebacker Brian Orakpo, wide receivers Leonard Hankerson, Santana Moss and Joshua Morgan, tight end Fred Davis and long snapper Nick Sundberg.
Griffin III — who was sitting courtside next to the Wizards’ bench with his fiancée, Rebecca, to his right and Orakpo two seats to his left — tweeted this immediately after the game:
My first Wizard's Game? Was a great one!—

Jerry Jones Plays Redskins Fan Last Night
Posted by on December 4, 2012 – 2:21 pm
Cue up “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and buckle up, because things are getting weird in the NFC East.
After a 38-33 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys woke up Monday morning as strange bedfellows with the Washington Redskins ahead of their Monday Night matchup with the division-leading New York Giants.
While a Redskins win would keep the Cowboys tied for second place in the NFC East, a Giants’ win would extend their division lead to two games with four games to go. As heinous as it may sound to cheer on your arch-rival, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones swallowed his pride and cheered on your Washington Redskins (via Kareem Copeland, NFL): Read more »

Darrel Young Takes Home ‘Gruden Grinder’
Posted by on December 4, 2012 – 4:36 amHard work really doesn’t go unnoticed.
Just ask Washington Redskins fullback Darrel Young. Young has been one of the key pieces to the Redskins’ NFL-leading rushing attack this season, but doesn’t get the accolades or awards that quarterback Robert Griffin III or running back Alfred Morris have been getting.
No, instead, he just continues to plow through the next man ahead of him, opening up gaping holes in the opposing defenses.
For his efforts in Monday night’s 17-16 win over the New York Giants, however, Young finally got some recognition.

Redskins Players React To Win On Twitter
Posted by on December 4, 2012 – 4:22 amWow, what a game.
The Redskins extended their winning streak to three games late last night with their 17-16 win over the NFC East-leading New York Giants to pull within a game of the division lead with four games still left to play.
The story of the game, to me, was the Redskins’ defensive adjustments in the second half. After allowing the Giants to convert 8-of-10 third-down conversions in the first half — as well as hold the ball for more than 20 of the game’s first 30 minutes — the Washington defense stood strong in the second half, allowing just one-of-five on third down the rest of the way and dramatically cutting into that New York time of possession.
Anyway, as usual, the Redskins players flocked to Twitter to show their excitement and their gratitude to the fans after last night’s big victory.
Quarterback Robert Griffin III:
Fans showed up and showed out for us..
So we returned the favor!!!—
