Griffin III’s Awards Help Community, Too
Posted by on November 30, 2012 – 5:19 pmRobert Griffin III says he won’t reflect on his record-setting rookie campaign until after the season, but when his awards directly benefit the community, you can bet the Redskins quarterback will appreciate that fact immediately.
That was the case today, when Griffin III was named the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week, an award that comes with a $2,000 donation in each of the winning players’ names to their local offices of Junior Achievement.
It’s the second time Griffin III has won FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award, so that means he’s sent $4,000 to the Washington, D.C., Junior Achievement office just based on his top-notch performances.
The FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week distinction was the third award Griffin III has won this week alone.
Griffin III today was also voted as the NFL Rookie of the Week — already for the fifth time this season. Then, on Wednesday, he was given his second NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month award.
We’re not sure if Griffin III actually gets anything — a certificate, plaque, trophy, etc. — for all these awards, but if he does, his NFL trophy case is already filling up fast.
And his career has just started.
Stay tuned for what will assuredly be many more awards for Griffin III.

Congrats to RGIII. There are many TEAM Players who also contributed to this award and helped to make it possible. Staying focused. playing like a TEAM and setting goals will win games! One game and opponent at a time and the wins will continue to come. I am in New York watching the Sports News tonight and the Giants are expressing thier concerns about coming to face RGIII and the Skins! I am confident that the Skins will win and we will be smiling when they do on Monday Night!
