How You Voted: Redskins-Cowboys

It’s time to take a look at your psychic skills for Thursday’s Redskins-Cowboys game, as well as which player was picked by Redskins fans at the Most Valuable Player of the game.

The Redskins, of course, won 38-31 in the Thanksgiving Day, nationally-televised matchup against their rival Cowboys. Several Redskins players had great performances, but let’s first look at who you predicted would have a breakout performance against Dallas:

As you can see, Redskins fans predicted that running back Alfred Morris would have a great game against the Cowboys, as he earned 57 percent of the vote. Morris, as it turns out, had a terrific performance in Thursday’s game, running the ball 24 times for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Let’s see how the other candidates played Thursday:

– WR Pierre Garçon: Five catches for 93 yards and a touchdown — a 59-yard reception in the second quarter. Though Garçon isn’t at 100 percent health-wise, it’s sure great to have him out there.

– TE Logan Paulsen: Two catches for 11 yards. He had an eight-yard reception, but wasn’t much of a factor in the offense on Thursday. He did, however, continue to show off his great blocking skills to help open up holes for Morris.

– CB Josh Wilson: Six tackles, forced fumble. He made a great play in the second quarter to force a fumble on Dallas wide receiver Dez Bryant, which was recovered by safety DeJon Gomes. On the ensuing drive, Morris scored his touchdown to put the Redskins up 14-3.

– S Madieu Williams: Four tackles, one pass defended. The one pass he defended, however, was a big one. With 1:03 remaining in the game and the Redskins leading 38-28, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo appeared to find Bryant for a 44-yard touchdown. Bryant came down in the end zone with the ball, but Williams lodged it right out of his hands to force the incompletion. The Cowboys had to settle for a field goal on their final drive.

Now, here’s how the MVR(edskin) vote ended up panning out (not surprisingly, it wasn’t close):

– QB Robert Griffin III: 20-of-28 passing, 311 yards, four touchdowns; 29 yards rushing. Yeah, I’d say he was the MVR(edskin) — he was also the “Galloping Gobbler” award winner.

– Garçon: (See stats above)

– LB London Fletcher: Four tackles, two passes defended, one interception. His interception of Romo in the third quarter killed the Dallas momentum during a key second-half comeback attempt.

– Morris: (See stats above)

Thanks again for your participation in the polls — and, of course, you’ll have the same opportunity when the Redskins take on the New York Giants Dec. 3 at FedExField.

Please throw the ball to Chris Cooley! He can help us if given the opportunity!

Why didn’t D. Hall go in for the touchdown when he recovered on-side kick? Woin’t that hurt us if it comes down to the points as a tie breaker? Thanks SMM
