If you want to know how valuable wide receiver Joshua Morgan was to the Washington Redskins’ game plan last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, take a closer look at the stat sheet.
Morgan was targeted 12 times by quarterback Robert Griffin III. The next closest was tight end Logan Paulsen, who was targeted eight times.
Morgan caught six of those passes for 46 yards and was voted by you, the Redskins fans, as the MVR(edskin) of the game, in which the Redskins lost to the Panthers 21-13 at FedExField.
Though Morgan’s final stat line isn’t very eye-catching, several of the receptions he did make were tucked away into the “very tough” to “amazing” category. He showed lots of grit going across the middle, focusing enough to catch the ball while knowing he was going to get smacked by multiple defenders immediately after.
Anyway, here’s the rest of the final results of last Sunday’s Most Valuable Redskin fan poll:
Because we can only limit this to four players, it’s worth noting that Redskins kicker Kai Forbath would’ve been next in the nomination process. Forbath hit both of his field goals against the Panthers to remain a perfect eight-for-eight in field-goal attempts on the season.
Forbath last week was voted by you as the MVR(edskin) vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers after he went into Heinz Field — a black hole for visiting kickers — and came out two-for-two in field goals, both of which were farther than 40 yards.
Thanks again for your participation in the polls — and, of course, you’ll have the same opportunity after the Bye Week when the Redskins take on the Philadelphia Eagles Nov. 17 at FedExField.
