Redskins-Steelers: Experts Pick ‘Em

Last week, less than nine percent of the experts and analysts we use for our weekly Expert Pick ‘Em thought the Washington Redskins could go into MetLife Stadium and get a win against the New York Giants.

Well, they were right. The Giants stole a last-minute 27-23 win against the Redskins, but I’m guessing that not many of those same experts and analysts thought the Redskins would be in the position to win near the end of the game that they were.

This week, a whopping 22.9 percent of those same experts think the Redskins (3-4) will escape Heinz Field today with a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-3). I’ll just be optimistic and say we appreciate the 150-plus percent increase in confidence for Washington this week.

Here’s a look at this week’s various picks:

Last week, one analyst at CBS Sports picked the Redskins against the Giants. This week, nobody from CBS Sports thinks the Redskins will beat the Steelers:

Last week, all 14 of ESPN.com‘s experts picked against the Redskins. This week, that number goes up by four!:

FoxSports.com always lists the spread and, if applicable, places teams they think will cover the spread in parenthesis. All four of their experts think the Redskins will lose, but two of the four think Washington will cover the spread, meaning the game could be a lot closer than some are projecting:

What’s this? A majority picking the Redskins this week? Thank you, NFL.com!:

ProFootballTalk/NBC’s Mike Florio and Michael David Smith both see close games today, but don’t agree on which team will win:

Sports Illustrated columnist Peter King usually picks against the Redskins, but only really talks about the talent that Washington has. He continues that trend this week, as he picks the Steelers, but talks about how Redskins running back Alfred Morris can be a key for Washington:

Week 8 Pick ‘Em Totals: eight for Redskins, 27 for Steelers
