Fighting Cancer? The Mammovan Can
Posted by on October 13, 2012 – 3:09 pm
Our focus on Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues with a look at the famous Mammovan.
On Thursday, the George Washington Medical Faculty Associates Mobile Mammography Program — or, for short, the Mammovan — headed to FedExField to help 15 Prince Georges County women receive mammograms at no charge. The screenings, which were coordinated through the CSA in Maryland, lasted from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Mammovan has actually been a staple in the Washington, D.C.-area’s battle against breast cancer since 1996.

Redskins-Vikings: Experts Pick ‘Em
Posted by on October 13, 2012 – 3:06 pmFor the first time in three weeks, the Washington Redskins are favored to win a game.
The Redskins (2-3) tomorrow play host to the NFC North-leading Minnesota Vikings (4-1) at 4:25 p.m. at FedExField. The Redskins are looking to get back to .500 as they get set to begin play against NFC East opponents, while the Vikings look to continue to be the surprise team of the NFL so far in 2012.
Some experts think with Robert Griffin III returning for the Redskins after suffering a concussion against the Falcons and being knocked out of the game, that the rookie quarterback can and will make the difference between a win and a loss against the Vikings. Minnesota’s dynamic duo of running back Adrian Peterson and wide receiver/returner Percy Harvin would probably like to argue that point.
Anyway, the Vegas odds don’t really matter to the experts listed below, as just about 37 percent of them think the Redskins will win:
