Redskins A Have ‘Top Tier’ Fan Base

Here’s your “Well, duh” moment of the day:

The Washington Redskins have one of the best fan bases in the National Football League.

But, just in case you needed some confirmation of this fact from an outside source, NFL.com’s Around The League editor Gregg Rosenthal is on the same page.

Rosenthal — who each week releases his own “Power Rankings” of various NFL-related topics — this week released his “Fan Base Power Rankings,” and the Redskins were ranked in the best category, or the “Top Tier,” of all fan bases.

In a nutshell, Rosenthal said football is king in the Washington, D.C., area.

“Nothing unites D.C. like the Redskins,” he wrote.

The Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles are the only two NFC East teams to have “top tier” fan bases, according to Rosenthal.

The New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, meanwhile, have “middle of the pack” fan bases. Nothing new to see here.

Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos

“Next Level”
Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans

“Middle of the Pack”
Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts

“Bottom Rung”
New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams
