You just never know which nationally-known journalist is going to show up each Wednesday for Robert Griffin III’s weekly press conference.
A couple weeks ago, it was ESPN columnist Rick Reilly. Today, it was ESPN personality Kenny Mayne, who had already filmed a little bit earlier in the day with the Redskins’ cornerbacks.
Today, Mayne waited until the end to slip Griffin III a piece of paper with his “line” to read for an upcoming ESPN segment.
Here’s some video of that line being read by Griffin III:
The line, for those of you who can’t hear?
“Obviously Kenny Mayne didn’t get any awards for football. But what did he do to get an award, period?”
I can only imagine what this is going to be about.
After Griffin III read the line, Mayne gave his approval, which led to laughter from the rest of the local media.
Stay tuned to see where this one ends up.
