For the second time in four weeks, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is a candidate for the Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week Award.
Griffin III, who led the Redskins on a game-winning drive in last Sunday’s 24-22 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, won the award after his stellar NFL debut Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints.
Can you fans make it No. 2 for Griffin III? Because voting is super easy.
- To vote for Griffin III as the “Pepsi Max NFL Rookie Of The Week,” go to www.NFL.com/rookies from today through 3 p.m. (ET) Friday and — you guessed it — select Griffin III.
Griffin III wasn’t the only Redskins rookie who turned in a solid performance against Tampa Bay.
Running back Alfred Morris also had a career-high 113 yards rushing and added a touchdown — his fourth of the season — in the win against the Buccaneers, who came into the game as one of the best rushing defenses in the league.
In comparison, New England Patriots rookie running back Brandon Bolden, who is also one of the players nominated for Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week, rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ 52-28 blowout of the Buffalo Bills.
Those same Buffalo Bills currently rank 28th in the league against the run, for what it’s worth. Not to take away from Bolden’s accomplishments — I just want it to be known that Morris deserves some attention, as well.
But that’s just more votes for Griffin III, anyway. So get to it!
