Redskins Read Book Drive Sunday
Posted by on September 20, 2012 – 3:38 pmSunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals is much more than the Redskins’ 2012 home opener.
It’s also the kick off to a great annual event that promotes childhood literacy.
The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, Everybody Wins! DC and Barnes & Noble Booksellers are teaming up to play host to the fifth annual Redskins Read Children’s Book Drive, which will kick off with a stadium collection Sunday at FedExField.
Participating is super easy and well worth your time.
Fans are encouraged to bring new children’s books to the game on Sept. 23 and drop them off in the collection bins that will be stationed around the stadium or to make their book donation at any of the 13 participating Barnes & Noble Booksellers stores beginning Saturday, Sept. 22, and running through Saturday, Oct 6.
If fans are unable to attend the game or wish to make a monetary donation, cash or checks will be accepted both at the game and checks may be mailed to the Charitable Foundation. All checks should be made payable to the “Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation” (a 501c3 nonprofit organization).
Donations may be sent to the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation c/o Redskins Read Children’s Book Drive, 21300 Redskin Park Drive, Ashburn, VA 20147. All funds collected will be used by Everybody Wins! DC to purchase additional books.
This children’s book drive, part of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Redskins Read literacy initiative, will collect new children’s books that will redistributed throughout the Washington Redskins market to children that could otherwise not afford to purchase books.
