Redskins-Rams: Experts Pick ‘Em

Man, that week flew by, didn’t it? It’s already Week 2 of the 2012 regular season.

Coming off an extremely satisfying 40-32 win over the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome last Sunday, the Washington Redskins are in the “Show Me” state today to take on the St. Louis Rams. Kickoff from the Edward Jones Dome is set for 4:05 p.m. (ET), and the game is televised on Fox.

The Rams, meanwhile, are coming off a frustrating 27-23, last-minute loss on the road to the Detroit Lions. Not only did the Lions score in the final seconds, but there was apparently a game clock malfunction that gave the home team an extra 10 or so crucial seconds during their final drive.

So, in other words, the Redskins and the Rams have two completely different feelings coming into the game — confidence vs., perhaps, pure anger.

And, even though the Redskins are considered the favorites in Vegas (and appear to be the better team overall), not everybody is sold that they’re going to wreck the Rams’ home opener. Here’s how experts from various national publications think today’s game is going to turn out:

CBS.com senior writer Pete Prisco is among those who think the Rams will pull out the victory today over the Redskins:

ESPN.com has a boatload of experts predict games each week. Among the 14 possible voters, just one — Seth Wickersham — picked the Rams to win:

FoxSports.com’s John Halpin and Michael Harmon are among those not sold that the Redskins will ride the momentum of their Week-1 victory into St. Louis for another win. Joel Beall, meanwhile, thinks the Redskins will win, but that the Rams will cover the spread:

Granted, NFL.com reporter Albert Breer doesn’t appear to have too much space to explain his picks, but it seems like he’s completely forgotten about how the Redskins played in Week 1:
