Cundiff Ready For Superdome Challenge
Posted by on September 6, 2012 – 4:58 pmBilly Cundiff knows what it’s like to kick in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, having played for the New Orleans Saints during the 2006 season.
Cundiff said he’s looking forward to returning to the Superdome Sunday, this time as an opponent, as the Washington Redskins take on the Saints in both teams’ 2012 season openers.
“I was down there in 2006 and can remember playing there,” Cundiff said today before practice. “It’s a very loud place, especially since they’ve got a good team.”

Niles Paul Honored With Dance, Video
Posted by on September 6, 2012 – 4:09 pm
I have a feeling that “doing the Niles Paul” is going to be the next big dance craze.
OK, actually, I try to keep as far away from dance floor as possible, but thanks to YouTube user MyRyTunes and the “Niles Mafia,” we have some new steps to learn.
MyRyTunes has what I’m guessing are self-produced videos with self-produced songs and self-produced dances. Here’s his tribute to Paul, the Redskins’ second-year tight end:

Thursday’s Redskins Practice Video
Posted by on September 6, 2012 – 1:39 pm
Only three days remain before the Washington Redskins open up their 2012 campaign on the road against the New Orleans Saints and their high-octane offense.
The Redskins practiced outdoors for a second consecutive day Thursday at Redskins Park. And, for a second straight day, things were muggy in Ashburn, Va.
Consider it a final conditioning test for the players as they prepare for their first game of the regular season.
Here’s some video from Thursday’s practice:

No Surprise: Griffin III Ranked No. 2 Rookie
Posted by on September 6, 2012 – 10:44 amIn some of the less surprising news heading into the Washington Redskins’ 2012 season opener Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III — the second-overall pick in April’s NFL Draft — is ranked as the second-best rookie heading into the season.
First-overall pick Andrew Luck, the Indianapolis Colts quarterback, is ranked as the top overall rookie.
Though the significance of this isn’t too great at this point, Griffin III’s performance from this point on will determine where he falls in ESPN.com’s Matt Williamson’s weekly “Rookie Watch” column (disclaimer: you must have ESPN Insider access to be able to read the entire article).

Video: Wednesday’s Redskins Practice
Posted by on September 6, 2012 – 8:59 amAfter practicing indoors to begin the week to prepare for the noise in New Orleans, the Washington Redskins moved practice outdoors today.
There was a workmanlike attitude as the team went through stretching and positional drills — you can tell they’re simple ready for battle.
Here’s some video from Wednesday’s practice:
