Have you ever said something to someone, not really thinking about it, and then realized you actually said something meaningful?
I’m pretty sure that’s what happened to Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III last night during a conversation on Twitter:
But those seven words, “music is the heartbeat of the world,” apparently struck a chord with Griffin III’s followers, who quickly began re-tweeting and quoting the phrase themselves.
Not long after, Griffin III began re-tweeting dozens of followers who had re-quoted the phrase — as in 76 of ’em (among others throughout the evening) with “music is the heartbeat of the world” in their tweets.
Athletes and celebrities with large amounts of followers — Griffin III, for example, has almost 306,000 followers as of today — get a crazy amount of re-tweet requests daily. For Griffin III to re-tweet so many of his followers definitely says something about him that we already knew: he cares deeply about his fans.
Anyway, I’d definitely agree with Griffin III that music is the heartbeat of the world.
I did, however, have to call Griffin III out last night:
A little background: Griffin III was listening to “Call Me Maybe” as he walked around the locker room yesterday before practice.
Hey, if that’s what gets you pumped up, I won’t judge.
