If you were anywhere near FedExField last night, you most likely heard the music.
The Brothers of the Sun Tour — featuring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw — was in town, and let me tell you, it was a pretty darn-good show.
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not the biggest country music fan; but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy and respect it. Actually, this was my second Kenny Chesney concert, and the guy simply knows how to put on a show.
(Except the first time I went, an inebriated fan spilled beer all over my head. But that’s not Chesney’s fault.)
McGraw, as expected, put on a superb show, himself. One of the highlights: Sunday was his daughter, Maggie’s, 14th birthday, and he held up his phone as the crowd sang “Happy Birthday.”
Opening acts Jake Owen and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals were also rockin’, and a nice change of pace from the headliners.
I’d say what got me pumped up the most, however, was seeing the FedExField stands full and rocking again. It really made me long for a Redskins home game.
Just 12 days before that’s a reality!
