Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garçon certainly isn’t the first NFL player to flip into the endzone upon scoring a touchdown.
But that doesn’t mean his flip in last night’s preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills wasn’t awesome.
Garçon — one of the biggest free-agent signings for the Redskins over the offseason — went flipping for joy in the first quarter after catching a pass from rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III, using some nice blocks down field, and running 20 yards to pay dirt.
In all, Garçon had three catches for 58 yards in limited action, but his flip was the focus of lots of questions after the game.
Garçon said he decided to do the flip at the last second.
“The last time I did it I think I was in college,” Garçon told reporters after the game. “I probably won’t be doing it again. The landing wasn’t too smooth so I’ll have to come up with something else.”
I’m interested to see what else Garçon has up his sleeve.
If Redskins fans are lucky, Garçon will have to come up with lots of different touchdown celebrations.
