Griffin III Ready To Seize His Moment

Writing little sayings on his cleats is nothing new to Redskins’ rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III.

He emerged onto the practice field last week with “HTTR” written on his cleats, or “Hail To The Redskins.”

But the message on his sneakers on Monday carries a little more meaning for Griffin III, the 2011 Heisman Trophy Award winner and No. 2 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft.

Mystery Man Dons Questionable Jersey

Redskins’ fans know wide receiver Anthony Armstrong as one of the team’s top playmakers, but yesterday Armstrong had himself a bit of an identity crisis.

During Monday’s training camp practice, Armstrong came out sporting a gold non-contact practice jersey – usually worn by quarterbacks– instead of his usual white #13 jersey.

The jersey, however, didn’t have a number printed on it, so Armstrong grabbed a roll of athletic tape and improvised.

TV Alert: ‘Skins-Bills On NBC Nonstop

For those of you not making the trek to Buffalo, N.Y., Thursday for the Washington Redskins’ 2012 preseason debut, listen up:

The game will not be airing on NBC-4. Instead, due to 2012 Summer Olympics coverage, the game will be showing in the Washington D.C. market on the “NBC Nonstop” channel, as well as on Comcast SportsNet.

On Aug. 5, 1975, Redskins coach George Allen made one of the most audacious trades ever in the NFL.

Allen gave the St. Louis Cardinals two 1st-round picks and a 2nd-rounder for 3rd-year defensive tackle Dave Butz, who’d missed the 1974 season due to a knee injury.

Inside The Park: Keeping Healthy & Limber

Hey ‘Skins fans. For today’s “Inside the Park,” I’m going to talk about some of the things that my teammates and I do to keep our bodies fresh throughout training camp and throughout the season.

One thing that I picked up last season is foam rolling. A foam roller is a cylindrical tube of hardened foam used to aid in muscle recovery. By rolling on the foam roller, you can work out some of the knots that form in a certain muscle group.
