Inside The Park: Rookie Skits A Hit
Posted by on August 2, 2012 – 10:14 pmNote: Each day during the team’s training camp, Washington Redskins’ outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan will blog his insights about the team and his own life as he begins his second season in the NFL. To ask Ryan a question for the blog, you can leave a comment below, tweet your question to the Redskins’ account (@Redskins) with the hashtag #KerriganBlog, or leave a comment on the Redskins’ Facebook or Google+ pages.
One of the things that always helps break up the monotony of training camp are the rookie skits. At every level of football, it is tradition for newcomers (like freshmen or rookies) to entertain the veterans, coaches, trainers, etc.
This is typically done by getting up on stage in front of the entire team and performing a skit, singing, dancing or doing whatever comes to mind in order to entertain.

Washington Redskins’ safety DeJon Gomes says he doesn’t really hear the crowds when he’s playing football, but he definitely heard the jeers from his teammates at this time last season.
Playing in his first professional training camp, Gomes decided to juggle three oranges in an effort to impress his veteran teammates in the annual rookie talent show.
It didn’t go over so well.
