I’ve decided to switch things up a little bit today and talk about my past athletic endeavors and what they have meant to me.
Most of you guys probably wouldn’t expect this given my size, but I used to be a swimmer for most of childhood. From the time I was 7 years old until I was 14 I swam competitively.

Training Camp Video: RBs Work On Hands
Posted by on August 1, 2012 – 4:43 pmOne of the most critical aspects of the Washington Redskins’ offense will be the ability of their running backs to catch the ball out of the backfield.
The team was working on that very skill Wednesday afternoon at practice.

Training Camp Video: QBs Toss To WRs
Posted by on August 1, 2012 – 4:33 pmWednesday’s training camp afternoon practice at Redskins Park saw a few more technical routes from the team’s wide receivers.
Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan was really focusing on the fade route in the end zone — something that looks a lot easier on TV or from the stands than it is to actually execute correctly.

Rookie Spotlight: Adam Gettis
Posted by on August 1, 2012 – 1:48 pmEach day during training camp, the Redskins Blog will be highlighting one rookie as they participate in their first professional camp and try to find their way onto the final roster. Today’s spotlight is on guard Adam Gettis.
Washington Redskins’ rookie guard Adam Gettis first played organized football his freshman year in high school and developed into a two-star prospect not recruited to play by many big colleges.
Fast forward five years later, and Gettis is the fifth-round selection of the Redskins in April’s NFL Draft.
It’s been a whirlwind experience that even Gettis said he can’t believe sometimes.
“You don’t think it’s going to happen,” Gettis said Monday after the Redskins’ morning walk-through practice. “Being a two-star guy, you don’t think those guys are going to make it, but it’s all about work and opportunity and you have to take advantage of those types of things.”

Well, would you look at that! We’re not but five or six practices into the season and our new indoor practice facility already comes into use.
That thing is going to be great to have this season, especially when November and December rolls around and it’s much colder outside. It was also way cooler in there today, too, so I give the indoor facility two thumbs up so far.
