Legendary retired CNN broadcaster Bernard Shaw was at Redskins Park Monday doing some early voice-over work for the upcoming Redskins’ 80th Anniversary show “10 For 80,” which chronicles the 80 greatest Redskins in the team’s illustrious history.
And let me tell you — it was awesome to hear Shaw’s glorious pipes in action.
But don’t let Shaw’s early work fool you, Redskins fans. You still have six days remaining to vote for your 10 greatest Redskins players and team officials to add to the already-compiled list of the 70 greatest Redskins of all-time.
Fans can vote more than once for the 10 players they would like to see join the elite list of former Redskins greats online at www.Redskins80th.com. Voting ends on Sunday.
At the conclusion of fan voting, a blue ribbon panel — consisting of Shaw and Redskins Historian Mike Richman, as well as three members of the 70 Greatest, defensive end Charles Mann, quarterback Joe Theismann and kicker Mark Moseley — will add their votes.
The combined votes will yield the 10 players who will join the exclusive group of former Redskins greats, named in 2002, to be honored as the 80 Greatest Redskins of All Time.
The panel will announce the “10 For 80” winners at the annual Redskins Welcome Home Luncheon in August.
