Arrington Hosting Free Tackling Camps
Posted by on July 20, 2012 – 2:53 pmFormer Washington Redskins’ great linebacker LaVar Arrington is hosting a series of free tackling camps in the Washington D.C. area.
The Xtreme Procision (XP) tackling camps are set for July 30th and Aug. 1-4 at Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Md.
The five tackling camps are for students ages 7-18 and each day will consist of three one-hour sessions that break down as follows:
9-10 a.m.: Ages 7-11
10-11 a.m.: Ages 12-14
11 a.m.-noon: Ages 15-18
The XP football methods were created “to increase productivity and reduce injuries stemming from inadequate training,” according to a news release.
Arrington is the founder of the XP technology. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Redskins and was known during his career as one of the league’s most feared tacklers.
“XP’s mission is to give players a solid foundation of sound football fundamentals,” Arrington said in the release. “Many athletes reach high levels of success using improper and potentially dangerous techniques. It is extremely important for players to learn proper football essentials from an early age.”
While there is no charge for camp participants, space is limited, so pre-registration is strongly suggested.
For more information about the camp and/or to register, go to www.xtremeprocision.com.
