RGIII Tweet: ‘Off The Unemployment Line’

Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III officially became a member of the Washington Redskins Wednesday morning with the signing of his contract.

Griffin III — the No. 2 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft — went to Twitter to announce the news, much like he did prior to the airing of the ESPYs Awards Show when he released he had won the “Best Male College Athlete” award.

Griffin III on Wednesday morning announced to his 258,000-plus followers that it was “time to go to work” and “off the unemployment line.”

The news because official about 20 minutes later when the team announced the signing.

Griffin III — the 2011 Heisman Trophy Award winner from Baylor — can now participate in the team’s rookie camp that began Monday at Redskins Park.
