Hulkster: Carriker Has Future In Wrestling

When Hulk Hogan speaks, you listen — which is an easy command for Redskins’ defensive lineman Adam Carriker.
Carriker is a huge wrestling fan — I mean, this dude lives and breathes that stuff — and I’m sure he was honored recently when the Hulkster himself told the Nebraska product that he had a future in wrestling.
Carriker, who co-hosts a wrestling show called “4th & Pain,” recently talked about the ordeal on his show (while he was wearing a Pluto hat, which he said he was going to wear into the ring one day).
He said he was on a family vacation in Orlando when he got the opportunity to meet Hogan backstage at a TNA Impact Wrestling event.
That’s when Hogan told Carriker to consider a career in wrestling, according to this report from footballnewsnow.com:
“Well, you know I’m young,” Carriker said, thinking Hogan was joking around.
As it turns out Hogan wasn’t joking at all.
“He stopped dead in his tracks. And he goes, ‘Well how old are you?’ ” Carriker continued. “And I go, ‘I’m 28 and I just signed a four-year deal with the Redskins. Let there be no confusion I am a football player first. Plain and simple I’m a football player who has a radio show talking about wrestling and football. But I am a football player first.”
Perhaps at that point Carriker was thinking that would be the end of it. But it wasn’t.
“You can kind of tell when people are placating you, having fun with you and they’re just being nice. He stops dead in his tracks and he goes, ‘Well, you keep us in mind if you ever want to wrestle.’ . . .
“I was up until 2 a.m. I was so wired from this thing. Especially the comments from the man himself.”
By his account of things, Carriker handled this encounter perfectly. He showed his devotion to the Redskins and his football career, but couldn’t help but be jacked up after the offer from one of his wrestling heroes.
I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where this goes for Carriker — Pluto hat or not.

Saw Carriker and Kerrigan at a WWE show months back, but if #94 is planning on joining the squared circle, he should stay away from TNA. I’m sure Vince would be very happy to offer him a real contract.
