Those looking for the first-ever professional battle between first-round quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck, look no further.

Well, it’s fun to pretend, at least.

Gamers recently got a sneak peek at Madden 13 — the latest installment in the extremely popular NFL video game franchise — at E3, the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo.

One of the preview videos currently out there features an exhibition game between the Indianapolis Colts and their quarterback Luck — the No. 1 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft — and the Washington Redskins and their quarterback Griffin III — the No. 2 overall pick.

Here’s the video, and some analysis below:

There’s not much to take away from these Madden 13 previews other than what video game outsiders believe the Redskins’ roster will look like — although seeing Robert Griffin III and the rest of the team in uniform and playing at FedExField is pretty exciting.

Here’s the projected Madden 13 starting offense for the Redskins:

QB: Robert Griffin III
HB: Roy Helu Jr.
WR: Santana Moss
TE: Chris Cooley
LT: Trent Williams
LG: Kory Lichtensteiger
C: Will Montgomery
RG: Chris Chester
RT: Jammal Brown
TE: Fred Davis
WR: Pierre Garçon

Interesting note: Tight ends Chris Cooley and Logan Paulsen got in on some plays in many of these Madden 13 preview videos. Also, wide receiver Joshua Morgan is wearing No. 84 — Niles Paul’s current number. Morgan is currently wearing No. 15 for the Redskins.

Here’s how the projected Madden 13 Redskins’ starting defense shapes up:

OLB: Brian Orakpo
DE: Jarvis Jenkins
DL: Barry Cofield
DE: Stephen Bowen
OLB: Ryan Kerrigan
CB: Josh Wilson
MLB: London Fletcher
MLB: Perry Riley
CB: DeAngelo Hall
FS: Tanard Jackson
SS: Brandon Merriweather

On special teams, Neil Rackers is the team’s kicker, Sav Rocca is the punter, quarterback Rex Grossman is the holder, Nick Sundberg is the long snapper and Brandon Banks is the kick returner.

Madden 13 is set to be released worldwide on Aug. 28. There will most likely be lots of speculation in the coming weeks about player ratings and how players stack up against each other.

Here’s a screen shot from the Madden 13 website that might give a glimpse into how the Redskins quarterbacks will be ranked to begin with:

@bpop I really don’t see how you can say that at all.

@VG They are grouping stats in to sub-overall categories. INT is intangibles

I think a lot more people will play as Robert Griffin because he has the speed factor. Most players like to be able to run when in trouble
