Prep Football Player Vs. Dexter Manley

For those who have been fortunate enough to see Redskins’ great defensive end Dexter Manley in person recently, you’ll notice that he doesn’t look much different than he does in the file photo above.

He’s still in great shape, and I’m yet to see anybody match his grip in a handshaking contest.

Redskins’ Summer Camps Approaching

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a professional football player is the ability to go into a community and touch the lives of area children.

Tour: Warm Welcome in Winchester

We’re two stops in, one big stop to go in the first day of the Washington Redskins’ 80th Anniversary Thank You Tour today in Winchester, Va.

A collection of former Redskins’ greats and current team officials — as well as the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders — received a warm welcome our first two stops of the day in the Winchester Rotary Club Luncheon and at NW Works, Inc., a great facility that provides training and employement to adult individuals who typically would not have the opportunity to work.

Who could’ve guessed a man with a surfer-boy image would help lead the Redskins to their most successful period in franchise history?

Former Redskins’ general manager Bobby Beathard was one of the chief architects of the Redskins’ three Super Bowl-winning teams of the 1980s and early 1990s.

His drafting prowess — which included the likes of Art Monk, Russ Grimm and Darrell Green — was second to none, including the Redskins’ 1981 draft class that is regarded as one of the greatest ever.
