Griffin III’s Jersey An NFL Best Seller

The hype surrounding the Washington Redskins’ selection of Robert Griffin III is definitely not a local thing.
The National Football League recently released its May jersey sales figures for NFLShop.com, and the Redskins’ rookie quarterback’s No. 10 jersey was the top-seller of the month, according to the Washington Post.
Griffin III led Denver Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning and New York Jets’ quarterback Tim Tebow in May jersey sales. No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck’s Indianapolis Colts jersey was ranked No. 4.
Also, from April 1 through May 28, Griffin III’s jersey ranked third overall in sales, which is impressive considering rookie jerseys didn’t become available until April 26.
It’d be foolish not to expect Griffin III’s jersey to be among the top-selling — if not remain at No. 1 — through the summer and into the beginning of the 2012 NFL regular season.
With a quality 2012 campaign, however, Griffin III could find himself with one of the most popular rookie jerseys of all time.
