2012 Redskins Player For A Day

The 2012 Washington Redskins Player For A Day program gave participants a chance to sign a one-day contract with the team and go through three stations with current and former Redskins players at Redskins Park.

Annual Mickey Steele Outing A Success
Posted by on May 18, 2012 – 1:30 pmRedskins’ alumni, current players and executive vice president/general manager Bruce Allen were present Friday for the eighth annual Mickey Steele Celebrity Golf Tournament.
The tournament is named in honor of Mickey Steele, a Maryland native, sports enthusiast and business owner, who in 2004 lost his battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

London Fletcher Named ‘Top Five Over 35′
Posted by on May 18, 2012 – 11:34 amRedskins’ veteran linebacker London Fletcher this week was named the fourth-best NFL player older than 35, according to NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks.
The selection is no surprise to those who have followed Fletcher’s career with the Redskins. Fletcher — who turns 37 years old tomorrow — last year led the NFL in tackles and is a perennial team captain.

Darrell Green: ‘Hometown Hall Of Famer’
Posted by on May 18, 2012 – 11:09 amWashington Redskins’ Hall-Of-Fame cornerback Darrell Green was honored this week by the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Allstate Insurance company as a “Hometown Hall of Famer” in his hometown of Houston.
Green on Tuesday was given the honor at his alma mater, Jones High School, and was presented a commemorative plaque that will be displayed at the school permanently, according to a release from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
