Team, effort and tradition. That’s the Washington Redskins way.
And what better way to parlay those three key components than to include them with the team’s newest uniforms?
That’s exactly what the team and Nike collaborated to do with the release of the team’s 80th Anniversary Uniforms.
The new uniforms — which are a “balance between history and tradition featuring a rich darker color palate and updated numbering system,” according to a Redskins press release — have the words “Team, Effort, Tradition” embroidered into their neckline.
“The Redskins are an amazing organization focused on team, unity and tradition,” Nike Football Creative Director Todd Van Horne said in the release. “We have truly enjoyed working with (Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder) and his team on this project and look forward to seeing the new Elite 51 uniform system on the field this season.”
Snyder said he hopes the 80th Anniversary Uniforms strike a chord with the organization’s devoted fans.
“In honor of 80 years of rich tradition this anniversary uniform displays our heritage” Snyder said. “We hope that it will bring back great memories to our fans.”
The 80th Anniversary Uniforms will be worn at two Redskins games to be determined in the 2012 season.
