Eight days after the Redskins selected Robert Griffin III with the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the team’s franchise quarterback took the field for the first time.
Today officially marked the Redskins’ first day of a three-day rookie mini-camp.
Head coach Mike Shanahan and his staff assembled a diverse collection of rookies and eligible first-year players. But the fascination today focused on Griffin III.
His trademark locks flowed from his helmet, and his bright gold quarterback jersey matched his fiery shoes and socks. This may have been just a non-contact off-season excercise, Griffin III’s football skills were also on display–and I’m taking notes. Read more »

Super Bowl-winning quarterback Joe Theismann and Hog tight end Rick ‘Doc’ Walker were the face of the glory years in Washington, and have a personal interest in seeing it return to form. That’s why both made an effort to be out on the field for the first practice of Robert Griffin III, and they shared a lot of their thoughts with Redskins Nation’s Larry Michael: Read more »

As the rookies and first year players took the field for the first of five practices this weekend, all eyes watched Robert Griffin III and his electric burgundy and gold socks walk down the hill to the back practice fields.
And by all eyes, I mean Redskins.comTV, as the practices were otherwise closed to the media. Check out the website for regular updates and remember to tune into Redskins Nation tonight, for the full footage report.
Even though Griffin III may be the star of the show this weekend, he continues to impress me with his poise. Read more »
