Griffin Voted Biggest Rookie Impact In 2012

I’m not one for superlatives without substance, but a bold prediction is always of interest.  Enter Robert Griffin III to the discussion, and it seems like anything is possible.

The NFL Facebook page posted a poll earlier this week, in advance of the Draft, to determine which rookie fans were most excited about.  The actual question posed to fans was:

Which rookie will have the biggest impact in 2012?

And here are the results:

And the people have spoken, with a resounding vote of confidence in Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.  Of the approximately 5,600 followers that participated in the poll, nearly 60 percent chose Griffin (3,298), more than the other three choices combined.

That other quarterback Andrew Luck, who ended up going No. 1 overall to the Colts?  He got 1,450 votes, which is only 44 percent of Griffin’s mark.  Trent Richardson, who went No. 3 overall to the Browns, following a draft-day trade, collected only 664 tallies, or approximately 20 percent of Griffin’s numbers.

And Morris Claiborne, first-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys?  He got 154 votes, which factors out to less than five percent of what Griffin got.  I guess taking Claiborne wasn’t the answer to the Redskins landing Griffin.

Again, superlatives without substance aren’t worth the webpage they’re posted on, but when the numbers are this lopsided, it’s interesting to note.  How much impact each of these rookies has in 2012 (and beyond) will be a topic of discussion for many years to come.

Tony Homo and The Dallas Cowgirls will really be pissed off when they face and lose to RG3 and the new look WASHINGTON REDSKINS!!!!
Getting Claiborne isn’t going to help them at all. Just kick ass REDSKINS, all the way to the SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!
