The Most Interesting Man In Washington

Posted by Brian Tinsman on April 26, 2012 – 9:33 pm

At a little before 8:15 p.m. EDT, the Redskins ended months of speculation and secrecy, turning in their draft card for the No. 2 overall pick.  It was written in perfectly legible hand writing, so that there was no mistake in their intent:

“Griffin III, Robert”

But with the stroke of a pen and the passing of a card, the Redskins took a major leap towards a Redskins Renaissance, adding the elusive franchise quarterback.

Make no mistake–the journey has only just begun, and the work is still yet to come.  Griffin has never stepped foot on an NFL field, and between now and September 9th, he will have to ingest a playbook and prove his muster.

But it feels like a victory tonight, and Griffin, team executives, and Redskins fans have every right to be excited.  The rumors and speculation are over, along with the apprehension of disaster.  #RG3toDC is in full effect, and one of the most electrifying playmakers to ever play quarterback is scheduled to board his flight to Washington tomorrow.

Congratulations Robert, congratulation fans, and Hail to the Redskins. Say hello to :
