Radio City Music Hall may need to push out the walls of the “Green Room,” because a record 26 rookies will be on site for the first round of this year’s NFL Draft. Here is the complete list of confirmed attendees, including (presumably) the Redskins’ own selection.

In the era of in-depth ESPN and NFL Network coverage, the green room has grown in importance, as the cameras are on hand to capture the initial phone calls. Between wall-to-wall coverage and the buzz on Twitter, the official podium announcement is all but a formality.
The downside to so much coverage, however, is that players can be left out to dry in the Green Room, especially now that the draft is divided up into three nights. Players that tumbled down the draft boards in recent years include Aaron Rodgers (No. 24), Brady Quinn (No. 22), Michael Oher (No. 23) and Da’Quan Bowers (No. 51).
Last year, Boston College’s Mark Herzlich was a feel-good story who ended up going undrafted. There really are no guarantees when it comes to the Green Room, but it will still be packed with talent when the Redskins select No. 2 overall.
