Posted by Brian Tinsman on April 16, 2012 – 4:58 pm

The Redskins had their first dose of offseason conditioning this morning at Redskins Park, as 61-0f-63 players reported for voluntary workouts.

Players were generally upbeat, and it was a first sighting for some players in quite some time.  The highlight of the morning was London Fletcher on the premises to sign his brand new contract with the team.  Players joked and high-fived with their captain in between workouts, and players hung around after the workouts to catch up on the offseason.

Several players tweeted their enthusiastic feeling about being back to work on a beautiful day: Read more »

Orakpo Meets A Kid Tougher Than He Is

Posted by Brian Tinsman on April 16, 2012 – 1:50 pm

Benching 31 repetitions at 225 pounds requires great physical strength and intensity.  Getting held by offensive linemen while trying to make a play requires great mental strength and patience.  Starting 47 games over the first three years of a career requires endurance and perseverance.

Mosby, along with his parents Janet and William, met his favorite Redskins player at Ben’s Chili Bowl in D.C., and the CSN Washington camera crews were there to catch the encounter: Read more »

‘Raising Hope’ To Be A Redskins Fan

Last Tuesday evening was part one of the two-part season finale of FOX’s hit comedy Raising Hope, entitled “Inside Probe.”  In the episode, they detail the unique storyline behind how baby Hope was brought into the world.  I won’t get into the details, but it’s a fairly strange episode, complete with an investigative report by Nancy Grace.

The noteworthy part of the show for Redskins fans was the T-shirt belonging to Burt Chance (Hope’s grandfather), which said “Washington Redskins” with a faded throwback ‘R.’  That ‘R’ was instituted as the Redskins emblem under Vince Lombardi, but lasted only two seasons as the official emblem, from 1971-72.

Very cool to see on primetime television, especially during the offseason:
