For those of you that are unfamiliar with the phone app sensation ‘Draw Something,’ it’s essentially one-on-one Pictionary for your thumbs. It’s wildly popular, which is ironic considering how basic the technology is for your 4G phones. But I digress…
The app inspired Sports Illustrated’s Andy Gray to seek the best sports-themed submissions for his SI.com gallery. Fans from all over Twitterverse sent in their top illustrations, which were narrowed down to 32 detailed and/or amusing selections.
Arguably the finest work was drawn by Redskins-enthusiast Sean Anderson, who depicted an awesome version of Christian Adolph Jurgensen II. We know him fondly as ‘Sonny’:
If I’m not mistaken, this is the exact picture that Mr. Anderson was trying to depict, and Rams lineman Deacon Jones is just as scary in cartoon form.
For those of you wondering, this play ended with a Jurgensen completion, during a 1967 regular season game that ended in a 28-28 tie at the L.A. Coliseum. Great work, Sean, and Hail to you too!
