They said they were building on a design from the beginning and Shanahan has never traded picks like he has, so I believe this was just another step. Everyone was wondering why they were stock piling mid to late round picks and now we see why. After watching them pluck Helu, Royster, Smith and Neild after the 4th round, this is adding up to be a you g fiery football team that will have a couple seasoned vets sprinkled in to add maturity to the team when they begin to win. Fletch is looking for a deal that takes him into his 40s and that’s just not smart business, especially when Loften from ATL is now available and would pair with Riley as two young stud MLBs.

I am excited about a good qb! Definately exactly what the team needs!!!

Peoples WE NEED to keep London Fletcher at Washington , He is without a doubt the biggest link in our defence backbone , DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO KEEP HIM AT THE SKINS , Best Regards Steve

    On offense

1 – Signing RG3. The ‘SKINS must have verbally agreed in principal on a contract with GRIFFIN, illegal or not. Makes no sense to give up the house, and then not have the money to sign him. How much? After this, he’ll want the moon and the stars. Maybe 6-7 mill to start out.

    2 – Either keep BECK @ 1.117 m or release him take the hit and re-sign GROSSMAN @ 1.150 m.

3 – we must try for V-JAX. No way around it. That’s prolly 10-11 mill of cap room gone right there.

    4 – Re-sign TIM HIGHTOWER to a two-year make-good 2012 contract at 1.3 mill, a 100 m bump.

    5 – Re-sign EVAN ROYSTER @ .326 m check – done

    4 – Sign R-OT JARED GAITHER at 2.1 mill.

    5 – Sign T/G WILLIE SMITH @ .475 m with a .100 m bump.

    5 – Add a fourth round G in the draft, BRANDON WASHINGTON .475 m

6 – Hope against hope WILLIAMS isn’t suspended for toking this season, or the next two for that matter.

7 – Ditto DAVIS. What a couple of mindless…….kids! Grow up you two.

    On defense

1 – Sign FA ADAM CARRIKER with a substantial increase to 3.2 mill. About 900 m more.

    2 – Sign CHRIS BAKER @ .356 m Check. Done.

    3 – NT NICK JEAN-BAPTISTE in the fourth, .475 m

4 – Sign FA KEYARON FOX with a bump of 190 m to 1 mill.

5 – Sign FA STEPHEN TULLOCH for 4.5 mill. FLETCHER goes saving roughly .500 m to 1 mill against the cap.

6 – Sign FA WILLIAM GAY 1.2 mill. Release BARNES and take the hit. How much ????

    7 – Sign CB BRANDYN THOMPSON off rookie contract at .405 m a bump of .309 m.

8 – CB JAMELL FLEMING fourth round .475 m from LICHTENSTEIGER, or fifth round .425 m if available.

9 – SS no idea. FA market very slim, draft as well. Can’t see LANDRY staying at 8.3 mill or more. Stab in the dark with a sixth pick.

    10 – CB/FS TRUMAINE JOHNSON third round .700 m

007, lot of good stuff there. I would rather they go after Carl Nicks and Vincent Jackson, then add a CB later in FA. I would like to see Landry resigned, given the money. But I think that if they are gonna draft RGIII they need to support him along the Oline, unlike Vinny did with Jason Campbell.

Nicks should be at the very top of the shopping list IMO. Followed by Vincent Jackson. I like a WR Corps of Hankerson, Jackson and Moss in the slot, where I think he (Moss) could have a pro bowl type year with Jackson commanding double teams.

REDSKINS NEEDS TO PICKED ”PAYTON MANNING” FOR QB ,IF WE WANT TO GO TO SUPERBOWL! LAST YEAR OUR SEASON ”SH**”.

Rich, I like your thinking with Nicks and V. Jackson. I would like to see us also get Stephen Tulloch to replace Fletcher.

  9. By richard powers on Mar 11, 2012 | Reply

Please don’t pick up Vincent Jackson. Revis shut him down, and he has not guts. He doesn’t know what the middle of the field looks like because he doesn’t have the gonads to run routes over the middle.

Marques Colston is a much better pick for the WR position. You also ought to pick up Cortland Finnegan, and a safety in the draft. Laron Landry didn’t do what he was supposed to do to be ready for this year. We need to deal him if there are any takers.

We need to pick up Carl Nicks from the Saints and hope that Kory L. has fully recovered fro his injuries.

    Rich:

V-JAX is VINCE JACKSON. Sorry i mislead you with the ….whatever that is.

Yes, I’d love CARL NICKS. In fact that was my first choice, but the cost is pretty high. I also mocked C CHRIS MYERS, but then we gave a make good contract to WIL MONTGOMERY so I got off him.

Instead I went for a FA R-OT because we gave up our 2nd this year, and drafted a G for LICHTENSTEIGER. If we get a fourth for him it will be a god-send. I can’t see it personally.

I can’t see LaRON being a REDSKIN because he refuses to surgically repair his achilles, and he will want more than the 8.3 he’s getting now. Frankly, we’re between a rock and a hard place. FA and the draft are both thin in that position.

007, due to the new CBA from last year there is a rookie salary cap. RG3 will get somewhere around a 4 year 20 million dollar deal. We win on this side as it still gives us money to sign FA’s.

I also agree with Signing VJAX. I would like to bring in Eddie Royal too and have:

    VJAX
    Moss
    Gaffney
    Hankerson
    Royal

Another move I would make if I were ALLEN; I’d have a cattle-call of undrafted local Maryland-Virginia young men like he did last season. We got WILLIE SMITH out of that deal, and I think he’ll make a solid left guard in a couple years.

    Jason:

Dang! Forgot all about that hard rookie cap. Thanx a mill. or severasl. That really does the trick with the FA’s. Man I bet BRUCE is burning up microwave-ville.

I trust that Shannahan and company did their homework. I am extremely worried about the price paid. No one leading up to this point mentioned three # 1 picks +. A lot of pressure will be on the coaches and RGIII to win now. Last year’s draft was exciting. This years and the follow two years will be boring. We will have to wait at least until deep in the draft to see any action. We will not be getting elite rookies through the draft until 2015. I hope RGIII succeeds, because I love the Redskins. I have been a Redskins fan for over 50 years, through good and bad. Goodluck Redskins!!!! HTTR.

You can’t say that there are no elite people drafted after the 1st round. There have been plenty of picks after the 1st that have gone on to pro-bowl careers. DeMarcus Ware, Brady, Hines Ward… plenty of options so don’t give up hope so quickly!

For the record Redskins fans they did not give up 3 FIRST ROUND PICKS, they only gave up 2 and they swapped picks in the 2012 draft. Giving up a pick is not being to use it because you no longer have one. They still have a first round pick this April. A swap is a swap ok, they do not have a first round pick in 13 and 14 so that is a 2 first round picks given up to go along with a second-round pick this April for a total of 3 picks……..

Nice to see the 18 million cap penalty for both 2012 and 2013. This pretty well limits us to re-signing FA and a few draft picks. What a bummer, man. If the REDSKINS din’t have bad luck, they’d have no luck at all.

  18. By 007 on Mar 12, 2012 | Reply

What the h does ALLEN do now? Enough cap room for 8/8.1 million to draft picks and maybe 5 mill for FA’s. This sux.

  19. By roy little on Mar 12, 2012 | Reply

We keep talking about getting a number one receiver…we could have gotten the best one in the draft..Justin Blackmon..as athletic as Jackson and unafraid of the middle…kept the number two pick, signed Flynn, and still had number one picks the next two years….in this age of salary cap football you have to build through the draft..can’t do it all through free agency…BUT THAT IS ALL WE WILL HAVE LEFT…good luck skins and RG3 ..hope you can do it all by yourself since we have mortgaged all our future!!!!
