Theismann Makes ‘Prestigious’ Photo List

One of the best offseason follows on Twitter is Andy Gray (@SI_Vault) of Sport’s Illustrated.  He has already provided Redskins fans a remarkable shot of the 1974 Redskins coaching staff posing with a brand new Plymouth Voyager.

Now, as part of a photo compilation series entitled “Athletes in the Bathroom,” we have a photo of Redskins great Joe Theismann dressed as a bathroom attendant for movie star Samuel L. Jackson.

Daniels ‘Getting His Feet Wet’ On Sidelines

When the lockout ended last July, Redskins defensive end Phillip Daniels was prepared to return to Washington for his 16th season in the league.  The 38-year-old strongman ultimately sat out the 2011 season, but not from a lack of desire on his part.

He’s just passionate about football.  And lifting weights.

Throughout a difficult Redskins season, Daniels remained loyal to his teammates and fans, by continually offering his support for the Burgundy and Gold.  Coincidentally, this made him the perfect candidate to step in as the new Redskins Director of Player Development for the 2012 season.

Moving forward, Daniels will have to adjust to life on the sidelines as a liaison between the players and the coaching staff. He chatted with the folks over at ESPN 980 about his new role in the organization, and how it has been tailored to fit him: Read more »

Shanahan Driven By Redskins’ Legacy

When head coach Mike Shanahan came to Washington in 2010, he brought his two Super Bowl rings with him from his days in Denver.

His legacy of winning has allowed him to break down and rebuild an aging roster, even at the expense of a few wins.  His proven track record has been cited by his free agent acquisitions and revered by rookies looking to find NFL success.

But when discussing his incomparable motivation with Redskins Nation’s Larry Michael, Shanahan didn’t reference his own history of success.
