For most coaching staffs, this time of year is reserved for film study, staff assessments and looking forward to next year.  Some coaches go on vacation and get away from the tribulations of the season, while others obsess over what could have been.

The Redskins coaching staff is taking ‘Option C’ down in Mobile, Ala. this week, working with the country’s top draft-eligible seniors in the annual Senior Bowl.  Here’s the first look at practice, via Redskins Nation’s Larry Michael:

Yesterday’s South Team practice was at an off-site location (not the stadium), but this afternoon’s will be available on the NFL Network at 5:30 p.m.

For a team in search of several key pieces and lots of organizational depth, this is another critical draft season for the Redskins.

Working with half of the top seniors in the country gives the Redskins a decided advantage in scouting, and it’s all hands on deck for the Burgundy and Gold.  Former defensive backs coach Bob Slowik has been moved to the linebacker positional coach, Ike Hilliard is on hand as the new receivers coach, and former Bucs head coach Raheem Morris has begun his role as the new defensive backs coach.

I’ll be sending you updates throughout the week, as we kickoff the lead-up to the draft.  If there’s anyone that you’d like a closer look at, let me know.
