Hall Of Fame cornerback Darrell Green remains one of the most beloved Redskins of all time, and rightfully so.  With each story that I post on the Redskins great, I hear more and more stories from fans with fond memories of No. 28.

On the field, he was an electric playmaker with 258 career starts over 20 years, 64 career takeaways, eight defensive touchdowns, and seven Pro Bowl appearances.

Off the field, he had at least as profound of an impact, from his leadership in the locker room to his compassion in the community.  And now, with the help of Home & Design Magazine’s Julie Sanders, we can take a look inside his humble abode:

Orakpo-Sack-Themed Vanity License Plate

For the third-consecutive season, linebacker Brian Orakpo led the Redskins in sacks, despite a strong challenge from rookie Ryan Kerrigan.  Orakpo tallied nine sacks this season–nearly one-quarter of the team’s 41–and finally got his first career sacks of division rivals Eli Manning and Michael Vick.

Orakpo also became the first member of the Redskins to record at least 8.5 sacks in three consecutive seasons since Dexter Manley accomplished the feat across four consecutive seasons from 1983-89.  The team has had a number of quality pass rushers since Manley and Charles Mann left, but none with results as consistent as Orakpo.

All of these numbers and stats are a long way of saying that now is the time to get your commemorative vanity license plate (via @acb0819, of her friend’s truck): Read more »

Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander has never been an ‘orthodox’ NFL player.  During his time in the pros, he’s learned offensive, defensive and special teams playbooks, changed body types through weight loss, lined up all over the field, and dedicated his time to his fans and teammates.

But when he isn’t preparing for his work on the field, Alexander likes to take his talents to the bowling alley.  And wouldn’t you know, he’s found success with a unique bowling style as well (via SportsBUZZVid):
