“Beat San Francisco” On Spirit Friday
Posted by on November 4, 2011 – 3:53 pmThe whole universe is in sync this week, with even the leaves turning Burgundy and Gold at Redskins Park. This is a big game, not only for the current Redskins, but also the 80-plus Redskins alumni that will be part of the Redskins Homecoming ceremonies during the game.
Some of the greatest players to ever suit up in Washington will be welcomed back, and the Redskins need a good showing more than ever. Players like Donte Stallworth realize the challenge that the 49ers present:
We are preparing for a really good San Francisco team. We had a good day of work in the classroom and on the field today #HTTR—

Rypien Topples Green Bay In Pro Debut
Posted by on November 4, 2011 – 12:22 pmFor those of you that don’t watch MTV 2′s Lingerie Football League, it’s like the Arena Football League, but better.
In her first start as a quarterback, Angela Rypien–daughter of Redskins great, Mark–did what her pops never did as a pro: beat Green Bay.
As LFL writers Pat Murphy and Jim Wallin wrote in their post game report, Rypien got the most out of her completions on the day:
Rypien, the daughter of former Washington Redskins quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien, completed just 6-of-16 passes for 81 yards but threw for three touchdowns and managed the offense well while avoiding interceptions in the second half as the Mist pulled away.

Redskins Champion ‘No-Shave-November’
Posted by on November 4, 2011 – 10:50 amBorn out of the storied mustache tradition of “Movember,” No-Shave-November encourages males too grow facial hair during the 11th month of the year. Officially, the phenomenon of No-Shave-November is done in awareness of prostate cancer.
Unofficially, it’s cold outside and it’s a great excuse to grow a facial sweater, and many members of your Washington Redskins are jumping on board.
“I think I started No-Shave-November when I was a baby,” confessed kicker Graham Gano. ”I was born with a full beard, and the first thing that I demanded was some beard trimmers. Yeah…April 9, 1987, that’s the day No-Shave-November started…of course, it didn’t really catch on until November though.”
Probed as to why he has only a light beard now, Gano responded, “Oh, I had to give it up, because people started thinking I was Santa Claus. I keep it right about here (a two, for facial hair trimmers), because if I shave my face, I look like a child, and I get carded when I go places.”
Gano revealed that he would grow his beard to Chris Neild proportions, but: Read more »

Posted by on November 4, 2011 – 8:26 amNow that Redskins rookie receiver Leonard Hankerson has caught his first NFL pass, the monkey is off his back, and “Hank Time” has arrived in Washington.
It’s kind of like Daylight Savings, but exciting for more than one weekend a year.
This week, Ben Ceccarelli’s Hail! comic captures Hankerson’s enthusiasm after last week’s performance. It’s Hank Time!
