Week 9 Power Rankings Roundup

After trending upward for the first five weeks of the season, the Redskins have yielded all of their gains in the last three weeks.

Such is life, in the all-important world of NFL power rankings.

But the good news is that a win gets them back on track.  A win brings the team back to .500, it keeps them in the chase in the NFC East, and it will inevitably lead to a boost in the beauty pageant that is NFL power rankings.

Check out your buffet of Week 9 rankings:

CBSSports.com gave the Redskins No. 22, sliding from No. 18 last week:

FoxSports.com bumped the Redskins to No. 24, down from No. 21 last week:

NBC/ProFootballTalk.com dropped the Redskins to No. 24, another tumble from last week’s No. 22:

ESPN.com dumped the Redskins to No. 22, another jump from No. 20 last week:

NFC East blogger for ESPN.com, Dan Graziano, has soured on the Redskins in recent week, and suggested that their fall from grace may be still in transit:

Just three weeks ago, the Redskins were ranked 10th in this poll. But it’s been three pretty rotten weeks for a Washington team that has fallen apart after its 3-1 start. I think they’re ranked about right for now, as I think the Minnesotas and Clevelands of the world are worse (though that Carolina team down there at No. 25 did beat them pretty handily). But the way they’re playing right now, there’s little reason to think this fall has reached bottom.

A common tweet among players this week is that “Tough times don’t last, tough people do.”  I’m not sure if that’s coming from the coaches or the players, but breaking out of a slump is about willpower.  This team has done a good job of focusing internally on the issues facing this team, rather than pointing fingers or making excuses.  Now, they just need to win.

Just win, baby.

I have been a Redskins fan all my life and we got too much talent to be 3-4. We need a mobile QB and a new offensive coach and I bet u we will win another Superbowl soon. Another thing we are to predictable on offensive and defensive plays.
