Brian Orakpo Goes Viral
Posted by on November 2, 2011 – 2:35 pmNo, Rex Grossman didn’t pass his bout of pneumonia on to his teammates.
Instead, Brian Orakpo has backed up his stellar commercial debut with two encore performances.
First, we have a healthy dose of Scrabble in the park:
Funny thing about that teacup, is that it would look like a mug if anyone else was holding it.
And too bad “Geico,” is a proper noun. That’s a no-go in Scrabble.
His next commercial, which I actually haven’t seen on live TV yet, has some marketing gold for the Redskins sack-master:
It is my job to inform you that there is no truth to the rumor that O-Rak-Go, O-Snack-Po, nor Coat-Rack-Po will be sold in the Redskins team store.
Shhhh.

Young To Choice: Welcome To The Family
Posted by on November 2, 2011 – 1:37 pmThis season, the Redskins running game has been similar to the push-mower I used in high school: sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it’s very dangerous, and sometimes it’s just ignored in the shed.
With the subtraction of Tim Hightower and the addition of Tashard Choice, Redskins fullback Darrel Young is hoping that the Redskins have found that perfect combination of horses in the backfield.
“It’s exciting, man,” he said. ”Every time you bring someone into the family that’s been productive in this league, it’s exciting.”
“Success” is a results-based term. What do you like most about his style, DY? Read more »

Kevin Durant: NBA Star, Football Stud?
Posted by on November 2, 2011 – 12:25 pmThe key to every successful team is playmakers. When a team loses playmakers, it suffers. When a team needs playmakers, it goes out and gets them. That’s exactly what this flag football player-coach did in Oklahoma:
I had soooo much fun at Oklahoma st playing flag football! Shoutout my new buddy @groverbey for inviting me! I threw 4 tds and had 3 ints!!—
Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) November 01, 2011
If I played for the other team, I would’ve driven past the field…and kept on driving. And returned with Dwight Howard.

Players Happy With Team’s Waiver Choice
Posted by on November 2, 2011 – 10:53 amWhen new Redskins running back Tashard Choice arrives in the locker room this morning, no introductions will be necessary. Most of those have already happened.
For example, Choice has already met Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall:
I’m told there’s no bad blood between the two, it was just a playmaker, making a play. Choice, who was No. 23 with the Cowboys, has adopted No. 40 with the Redskins. That number was previously possessed by cornerback Brandyn Thompson (in training camp), who was waived from the active roster in order to make room for Choice.
Funny how it’s all connected. Read more »
