Redskins Promoted In Last Madden Update

Posted by Brian Tinsman on October 27, 2011 – 12:41 pm

Because you care, the good folks at EA Sports have updated the settings on their fantastic video games, so that fans and Madden enthusiasts can continue to maintain the most realistic,  fake game-play possible:

Kevin Barnes CB WAS Decrease, from 69 to 68OVR
Logan Paulsen TE WAS Increase, from 62 to 65OVR
John Beck QB WAS Increase, from 73 to 75OVR
Adam Carriker DL WAS Increase, from 79 to 81OVR
Fred Davis TE WAS Increase, from 84 to 85OVR
Roy Helu HB WAS Moved to 3DRB #1 on depth chart
Ryan Torrain HB WAS Moved to HB #1 on depth chart
Roy Helu HB WAS Moved to HB #2 on depth chart
Jabar Gaffney WR WAS Moved to WR #1 on depth chart
Tim Hightower HB WAS Removed from depth chart (injury)
Santana Moss WR WAS Removed from depth chart (injury)
Chris Cooley TE WAS Removed from depth chart (injury)
John Malecki OL WAS Signs
Jonathan Compas OL WAS Signs
Dominique Byrd TE WAS Signs

Here are a few notes worth mentioning:

  • Logan Paulsen’s career day of two 24-yard catches in a single drive, in addition to expert blocking for Tim Hightower, led to his plus-three promotion.
  • John Beck’s good showing in his first start since 2007, earned him a plus-two promotion.
  • Adam Carriker’s career-best 1.5 sacks, led to a plus-two promotion as well.
  • Fred Davis’s ascension to the top of the depth chart, as well as his team-leading 28 catches for 423 yards, raising him to a very solid 85 overall.
  • The roster shuffle was fairly depressing this week, but a tip of the cap to EA Sports for making most of the necessary changes.  Too bad that they went to the effort of signing OG John Malecki’s avatar to the squad, who lasted less than a week, before being replaced by running back Tristan Davis.

And that’s your Week 8 Madden update.

hey hawbreaker…lol man u made me laugh commenting on landrys arms, thats a lil too much detailed attention to the game…but bottom line i think ea sports has a vendetta against the skins just hear me out for a second fellas……now its a non argumentive point that skins have performed drastically horrible over the last past couple of years so yes its expected that every year the new madden comes out the skins overall rating will be mid to low 70’s but for some reason win the skins have a so so year and has obviously done better than the season before ea sports still have them rated so low on the next madden to come out its like even when the skins shoud be rted better than lets say the bills before this year or the lions before this year and the 49ers before this year, they still make the actual game play of the skins so slow and late reacting ,i mean the joystick controller even feels slower and weaker whenever i use the skins(on xbox ;gamertag is DASILVERBACK2 just incase anybody wanted a beatdown straight out of the nations capitol u can come holla at me) it just sucks that every year u can anticipate the new madden coming out but never really get excited about using your favorite team (the skins) my fellow skinsnation madden lovers help me out tell me if im being unreal or does jerry jones have ea sports on payroll too….p.s F the cowboys.

I agree with your last few yrs. but expand that to 15 to 20 yrs. of horrible teams & games. skins have made play-offs only twice since Snider became owner & were only a threat to move on in play=offs once under Joe Gibbs. I remember when Snider got ownership & tried his best to BUY a super bowl with high paid almost washed up players. example —– deon sanders & mcnabb. I wish snider would have spent all those big bucks on young players with the potential to become good solid players in 2 or 3 yrs. but you have to include the proper coaching staff to develope that potential. At least snider only wasted one yr. on mcnabb.
