Our friends over at Hogs Haven spied a “fan instruction video” from the St. Louis Rams Web site. I likely would not have posted it, but because there are Redskins ties in the video, I feel compelled.
I’ll be honest with you, I’m not really sure what to make of this, so I’ll let you decide:
To give credit where it’s due, the “12th Ram” and “dome-field advantage” are pretty creative.
Here’s where I’m a little confused (and amused):
1. As far as I can tell, Elvis’s only connection to St. Louis is that he played there a few times and, according to Wikipedia, was burned in effigy after his Ed Sullivan show appearance.
3. Shouting out such things as “first down,” “sack,” or any other outcome of a given play. Do they also have to call out defensive holding and illegal hands to the face?
4. Interesting that they chose James Hall’s sack of Donovan McNabb in last year’s matchup. One would think that they would choose a sack on a division rival, or at least a hit with a little more ‘oomf.’
5. And last, but certainly not least, the infamous slow clap. As far as I can tell, the last time the slow clap was relevant, was before the big game in Hoosiers. Even then, it was a little cheesy.
Not sure about you, but I’m excited to witness the 12th Ram in action on Sunday.
