Ryan Kerrigan Top Rookie Candidate

Posted by Brian Tinsman on September 13, 2011 – 1:44 pm

For outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan’s electric welcome to the NFL, he has been nominated for the award of NFL Week 1 Rookie of the Week.

Check out the highlight video of the five rookie performances, and you will see that Kerrigan’s is vastly superior. ¬†They also include the radio call of the play by Larry Michael and Sonny Jurgensen, which is pretty cool to hear.

Here’s the full field of competition:

I think that Ryan Kerrigan can be one of the best, in time. I watch him in college, and when he was drafted I’ve been watching. I was curious if he could move to that position and be effective at the start. He will be just fine! I thought so much of him that I picked him in a Fantasy Draft as my bench player or ready to be a starter. I had to write his name in because the list given to me to draft from did not have him on it I know fantasy, but nice dues are needed to get in.
I have to say this, I know he is in new surroundings and is probably not totally sure of himself yet (first game also). But he looks just a little shy during tackles. If I were to rate a very bad player as “1” and the best (or a BAD “A”, with his nose right at the line , but enough class not to go over} a “10”, I would rate him a “7”, even at this point. This rating is from the way he carries himself, his athleticism, his techniques on the field and must of all his work ethics (I hope). If I could suggest one thing to this young player it would be to “Bring your nose to the line”, and become Mr. BAD “A”, with out going over it, always have CLASS.
