Packers, Saints, And Why Redskins Should Care
Posted by on September 9, 2011 – 10:18 amLast night was a great matchup between two NFC teams with big expectations. It was Lombardi, it was the NFL opener, and as long as you don’t care for defense, it didn’t disappoint.
But it really had nothing to do with the Redskins.
Neither the Packers nor the Saints are on the Redskins regular season schedule in 2011, so there was no scouting to be done. Neither team’s roster had any meaningful connections to the Redskins, so that was out as well.
Thank goodness DirecTV put out a commercial with a favorable prediction for the Redskins-Cowboys rivalry:
That’s a little bit funny, considering that Deion Sanders was a long-time Cowboy and a one-time Redskin. He’s seen both sides of this rivalry, but he certainly contributed more to one side than the other.
Redskins players noticed the score too:
Anyone else see the score on that phone in the Sunday Ticket commercial? Was 17 Dal 7 #imjustsayin—

The Art Director responsible for that is life long skins fan from Hampton Roads named Jeff Dryer. He has also added in some Redskins shots in his newest series of commercials for ESPN featuring that rusty old cowboy in the desert with gadgets at his disposal. Pretty funny stuff.
