The American Red Cross Greater Chesapeake and Potomac (GC&P) Blood Services Region and the Washington Redskins will team up for a blood drive on Friday, September 2nd at the Crowne Plaza in Arlington, VA. The Red Cross will provide all blood drive participants a game ticket to the opening day Redskins home game against the New York Giants on September 11, 2011.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Call ahead or visit the Red Cross Web site.
- Donate Blood:
- Friday, September 2, 2011.
- 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

- Get your free ticket to the season opener against the Giants.
This event will launch the second year of a series of season-long Red Cross Redskins blood drives with participating locations in Va., D.C., Md. and Pa. Participants at many of these special event blood drives will receive, courtesy of the Red Cross, a ticket to a Redskins home game or other special event at FedExField.
Last year, more than 4,000 Redskins fans participated in a series of Redskins blood drives during the season. Their donations have helped more than 15,000 area hospital patients in need of blood transfusions.
“The Redskins are committed to help the Red Cross provide a safe and adequate blood supply for our communities and raise awareness on the importance of blood donation,” said Mitch Gershman, CMO, of the Washington Redskins. “Hail to the Redskins fans that have and will participate!”
Eligible donors should call 1-800-RED CROSS to register or visit http://www.redcrossblood.org/redskins for more information about upcoming Redskins events and announcements. The next blood drive is: Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza, 901 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314 from 8 am- 3pm,. All participants at this event will receive a ticket to see the Redskins vs. Giants. The following Redskins blood drive will provide Redskins vs. Cardinals tickets to all participants: September 12, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Capitol, 550 C Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20024 from 11 am – 6 pm

All blood drive participants will receive (1) 2011-2012 regular season game ticket. Tickets are non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate. *Tickets to specific games not guaranteed. All blood drive participants will receive (1) 2010-2011 regular season game ticket. Tickets are non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash.
