Who Are Your Top Performers?

Posted by Brian Tinsman on August 19, 2011 – 9:46 pm

You, the voters, selected John Beck as your first-half MVR(edskin).  His line for the day was 14-for-17 for 140 yards and a 101.0 quarterback rating.

That’s good enough to earn him a shot at top Redskins player in the game.

Helu looked good. In fact the last two games, the entire run game was on point. Beck played well, but the less he has to throw, the better. If the running game is where it’s at, he’ll have more time especially with the play action.

I have a concern about Hankerson…the kid is dropping passes. Not sure how you improve on that, but he can’t be on the field dropping potential first downs. HAIL.

Not to ignore the intent here, but to me a few surprises/disappointments. Why know deep passes from Beck? Grossman was given the opportunity, why not beck? Why more rushes in the game tonight? Giving Beck less opportunity to pass. Why run out the clock at the end of the first half? Why put in Chappell to simply run out the clock? Give him a shot at the 2 minute drill…it is preseason, why not evaluate? Whu so many FG’s? Why not give the other kicker a shot either? Personally, I would have gone for it on 4th down only because it’s preseason and there is nothing to lose. Why give Draughn a shot, but not Chappell?

Oh yeah and why not list Gano on that list, he scored 9 points.

sorry, not sure why I wrote know there, should be why no deep passes from Beck, lol

Beck just played it safe against a vanilla defense. this doesn’t show me anything but from what I’ve read it’ll give the Shanahans the justification they need to make him the starter.,

I still like Grossman as the starter. It’s comforting to know we have a little quality depth at QB and RB now.

Beck all the way. He should have had at least 1 touchdown. I don’t know what is so hard about sticking your arm out half an inch to break the goal line. Beck can run as well. Beck is better then Grossman in every aspect of the QB game except for maybe getting rid of the ball but that can be taught. Beck wins this battle!

I LIKE GROSSMAN BUT BECK LOOKED ALOT BETTER IN MY THOUGHT.
IVE SEEN GROSSMAN PLAY ALOT AND HE IS A 50/50 PLAYER EITHER HES HOT OR HES NOT. WHEN HES ON HES A GREAT PLAYER BUT 50/50 ONLY GIVES YOU 8 AND 8 NOT A PLAYOFF SPOT. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE JOHN BECK AS A STARTER. HE REALLY LOOKED AMAZING LAST NIGHT. GROSSMAN GOT A PICK.
BECK NEEDS TO BE THE PICK FOR THE SKINS HAIL

Though the quarterback and running game were fantastic, I have to give the credit to our offensive line…..if they were not solid…we probably wouldn’t have success at either rushing or passing……GO O-LINE!!!

Wonder how many more yards Tim Hightower would have piled up if he had been able to touch the ball 12 more times. I am sure they took him out early so as not to get injured. Looking forward to watching him run this season. Watched him run the ball at U of R and was formidable. He’s at home now and would love to see him retire as a Redskin.
