Can you believe that as of three weeks ago, we had no football, no relevant news to report, and no prospects for a resolution? Fast-forward to tonight, and we’re looking at the first football of the 2011 season.
For the Redskins, today is the final day of preparation for tomorrow’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. There is no practice open to the media, so today is good day for me to catch up on some back-logged stories and prep you for tomorrow’s game.
The general consensus among players is that tomorrow is fairly important, not in terms of results, but in terms of getting in some work. It’s been a long offseason for everyone, and regardless of rookie or veteran status, it’s hard to get back up to speed.
With 90 men on the Redskins roster and 24 rookies, look for a lot of players you’ve never heard of (and a few that you have). If the Redskins are going to compete in the NFC East this year, these players must contribute. Period. Starting Friday night, they are the story-line.
