Big Red Loves Burgundy And Gold
Posted by on August 7, 2011 – 10:21 pmIt would be fair to say that the Redskins draft in April attracted the attention of Nebraska Cornhusker fans.
After taking three straight Huskers in the middle rounds of the draft, the sea of Burgundy and Gold at Fan Appreciation Day was speckled with dots of Husker Red. I got a chance to flag one Nebraska fan down, and he gave me the skinny on each of the Huskers-turned-Redskins.
Patrick Farrell, United States Army, was decked out in his No. 10, Roy Helu red-on-white Nebraska jersey. Wearing his Nebraska hat and grasping his Huskers mini-helmet, he was peering down the long row of fans, looking for his favorite football players. Read more »

Anthony Armstrong Segways Nicely Between Work and Play
Posted by on August 7, 2011 – 5:51 pmOne of the most exciting and consistent players in camp so far this year has been wide receiver Anthony Armstrong. He is still getting in tune with the quarterbacks, but has made some outstanding catches downfield against the best that the defense has to offer.
And he’s staying loose out there too.
One of the funniest scenes from Fan Appreciation Day, yesterday, was seeing Armstrong take a break from entertaining fans with his play, to entertain them with his antics on a Redskins Segway.
As he said later on Twitter:
Don't normally get to cruise around on a segway on the field, but had fun when I got to yes http://www.sportsbuzz.com/buzz/17229—

Redskins Players Enjoying The Day Off
Posted by on August 7, 2011 – 4:04 pmYesterday marked the first full-contact practice of the year for the Redskins, and they came out of it pretty healthy.
Outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan has made strides towards returning to full speed. Quarterback John Beck is said to have tweaked his groin in practice and was limited for the remainder. Tight end Chris Cooley has practiced on and off this week, but could be turning the corner in his return from a knee injury. Safety LaRon Landry has still not been cleared from the P.U.P., but has not reported any setbacks yet.
With all of that in mind, the Redskins look to be in good shape and are in the middle of enjoying a well-deserved day off. Most players are staying far away from football today and taking in some other forms of entertainment. Read more »
