Darrel Young Is A Truck
Posted by on July 30, 2011 – 10:00 amFullback is a position that hasn’t been a concern for Redskins fans since Mike Sellers returned to town in 2004. The team still has depth behind him in Darrel Young, a one-time linebacker that has made the switch to the offensive side of the ball.
Some things Young does very well. When he runs, it looks like a runaway train, and I feel sorry for any safeties and cornerbacks that he blocks. His hands still need time to develop though, which was noted during a running back screen-pass drill:
In the Shanahan offense, the fullback is active in the passing game. If Young is the heir apparent at fullback, he will need to work on his catching skills.

Perhaps, but he still has to catch the crap passes too. Unfortunately for him, it stood out against the other backs in the drill. This group has some pretty good hands
